Tie Back Hooks

Curtain Hooks may be a very small component part but they play a huge part in connecting your curtains to your new curtain pole. You have a choice of metal or plastic/nylon, so which type do you need?

Metal curtain hooks are very strong and are ideally suited to heavy curtains and often a favourite amongst curtain makers, as they add the final detail to a quality job.

Plastic curtain hooks can be used on light to heavy curtains, but we wouldn’t recommend using them on very heavy curtains, as the hooks may flex and pull out the glider or curtain ring, especially on the leading edge of the curtain.

Nylon curtain hooks are transparent and are therefore particularly suited to use with transparent curtain tape which should be used when making drapes from lightweight sheers and voiles, as they cannot be seen through the heading tape.

For hooking curtains with multi pocket heading tapes, hooks should be spaced at 7cm intervals. Large gaps between hooks will cause the curtain to droop between hooks and make for an unsightly hung curtain.

Hook types in this section.

  • Plastic and metal curtain hooks for pocket tape headings
  • Metal pin hooks for pinch pleat and goblet headed curtains
  • Wall hooks for fabric, rope and tassel tiebacks
