Classic finials are usually in wood, brass or wrought iron, due to the fact that they are reproductions from days gone by when these were the only materials available to the village blacksmith or carpenter.

Traditional features on a curtain pole will enhance the curtain treatment and emphasize the look you are trying to achieve. The most traditional style of wooden and brass finials are classic decorative features on balls, urns or acorn shapes and on wrought iron the Sheppard’s crook, scrolls or Fleur de Lys. Classic finials are quite elaborate and to follow the theme through your window treatment, the matching curtain brackets and holdbacks should be used.
