Curtain poles give you the opportunity to show your curtain headings to their best advantage, which would not be seen under a pelmet. The pole more so than the actual fabric indicates the style you are trying to achieve. A tab top curtain for instance on a stained wooden pole would give a traditional feel whereas the same window dressing on a contemporary metal pole would indicate a modern window design.

Reproduction curtain poles are mainly copies of Regency and Victorian styles and are usually in brass but some are copies of styles dating back to the Middle Ages and they are usually in wrought iron. Reproduction poles mainly come in wood, metals and plastic.
