A bedroom is usually the most feminine room in the house and as such is the room that can afford to be a little flamboyant, offering you a free hand to be gorgeously creative. Dreamy coloured wall coverings or paint finishes combined with delicate floral fabrics used for the curtains or blinds, like the Hawaiian Glitter roman blind, will keep the look soft and feminine. If you have decided on using curtains as your window treatment, then one of the many glass or beaded curtain pole finials, featured in the Integra Options mix and match range will help to enhance the mood you are trying to create.

The day will begin on a more positive note if the early morning light fills the room, but not too early in the morning. Apparently we spend roughly a third of our lives asleep, or trying to be asleep so it is important that as many of the conditions conducive to a good nights sleep are in place. The control of external street lighting or early morning daylight can be very easily and cheaply achieved with a blackout blind such as the Bellini Cream roller blind, used only perhaps as a secondary window treatment to deal with the issues of privacy and light, rolling up neatly during the day leaving your curtains and curtain poles to hold centre stage.

A more traditional bedroom will need additional window treatments, even if it is just a voile swag draped over a decorative wooden pole like the Byron & Byron Florentina Hampstead curtain pole. There is a multitude of fabulous wooden poles available from Byron & Byron which will enable you to colour co-ordinate your curtain pole with the rest of the room decorations and curtain fabrics.

Feminine elegance is the keyword for most bedroom blinds and a roman blind in a soft buff pink such as the Islita Angel roman blind, will look not only irresistibly elegant, but will create a touch of romance. A venetian blind will diffuse strong sunlight and will also allow you to control the daylight, ideal for a lunch time siesta. The soft colourings of the Apricot metal venetian blind will add appeal with the soft pools of light emulating across the bedroom.

Try to keep the curtain treatments light and romantic by using a curtain pole such as the Integra Gainsborough curtain pole. A wall colouring that will look fabulous at night with soft ambient lighting is a very pale taupe. The curtains should be on the exotic side but in restful yet romantic colours. Full length interlined silk curtains set on a fabulous period wooden curtain pole, like the Sunflex Romantica curtain pole, and arranged in a pair of matching holdbacks, Sunflex Romantica holdbacks, would be perfect. Silk curtains, as with pale coloured curtains, should be handled as little as possible, which is where a co-ordinating roller blind, the Acacia Beige roller blind for example, will come into its own. This stylish roller blind is available in a good range of colours from natural shades and pastels through to oranges, reds and blacks, enabling it to colour blend with just about any other colour in your bedroom decorations. The roller blind can be the functional aspect of the window treatment, leaving the decorative curtains permanently arranged away from the window.

A metal venetian blind, such as the Silken Fern metal venetian blind, is all that may be required in a modern bedroom which is based on the minimal uncluttered look. Decorations can then used to soften the mood, perhaps with a work of art in pastel shades or some delicate glass home accessories.

Lightweight sheers and voiles will make for an interesting finishing touch to the room. The fabric can be loosely draped from strategically placed curtain holdbacks, such as the  Integra Legacy Fleur de Lys holdbacks or the Artisan Bon Bon holdbacks, fitted to the wall behind the bed. A curtain pole such as the Resina Advent 25mm Stainless Steel curtain pole range, that can be ceiling or wall fixed, can also be fitted to the ceiling above the bed and then be dressed with a swathe of fabric to match the bedding or the bedroom curtains.
