Light is life they say and in your home it certainly contributes more to your well being than any fancy piece of furniture or brightly coloured wall. Garden rooms or conservatories make a wonderful addition to your home, not only giving extra room to expand but will also keep your spirits high, ensuring that as much natural daylight and, better still, sunlight can flood into your home.

In many instances the level of daylight and in particular sunlight will need to be controlled at certain times of the day. The most practical and economic way to do this is with the use of window blinds, whether they are Pleated blinds, like the Florence Lemon, or Vertical blinds, like the Maya Leaf. Whilst you may enjoy breakfast with the early morning sun pouring in the windows, you may need to deflect some of the heat away from your windows during the day. Where sunlight is too strong it can be controlled with a vertical blind that has sun reflective properties, this will gently allow light to filter into the room without blocking it altogether. See the Mercury SRC Beige vertical blind, for example.

Unless you are fortunate enough to have a new custom made, double glazed conservatory, honeycomb blinds make a particularly effective window treatment for sun lounges, conservatories and garden rooms. They are made from an innovative and highly effective fabric formed by a double layer of hexagonal cells placed side to side which traps the air. Not only are they energy efficient as they act as a barrier helping to insulate draughty single glazed windows but they will also make a very attractive addition to your interior decoration.
