If you are fortunate enough to have a bathroom with generous proportions, then count yourself lucky. If you have a bay window in the bathroom, then wow!! – you will be able to make a fabulous feature of this. This beautiful curved bay window provides an almost separate bathing area to the rest of the bathroom, an area of relaxation where you can spend quality time with a good book or indeed your partner, as there is always plenty of room for two in a large bath that this type of area will permit.

A curved bay window will need a special type of curtain track or pole, but don’t despair, we have plenty on our site. Some types of curtain track can be bent by hand, such as the Integra Premier Corded track and the added benefit of this track is that it is corded. This feature will be a must in some situations as it may be almost impossible to close the curtains by hand without having to step into the bath to do so – probably scratching the bath in the process.

Wooden and metal curtain poles will need to be professionally bent at the manufacturers to ensure that the correct angle is achieved. The Silent Gliss Metropole metal curtain pole being a fine example for a bay window as it is available in a stunning range of 13 colour finishes and it can also be ordered with or without a corded system. We have a member of the team who is an expert on measuring and fitting curtain poles and tracks to bay windows and he will send you a special measuring form to complete. He will also be happy to speak to you anytime during office hours to help you with any queries you may have.

The Swish Duo curtain track is a great option if you wish to have a pelmet, which looks very attractive running round the bay when the curtains are open, although pelmets are somewhat out of vogue at the moment.

Whilst various types of blinds will suffice such as roman or roller blinds in a bay window with definite sections, in a curved bay they are out of the question as there are no flat sections to fit multiple sections of blinds.

Three sided bay windows are more common and make an equally desirable area for the bath, although the area for the bath may be more restricted, therefore making a conventional bath size your only option.

The Integra Options curtain pole makes a fabulous choice for a metal curtain pole in a bay window. The use of the corner bracket will enable the pole to be used for multiple bays as well as three sided bays and the range of curtain pole finials is outstanding. Take a look at the Ripple glass finial for a fresh modern finish, the iridescent glass reminiscent of ice in a mountain stream, or the Amelie Pearl finial for a more feminine finish.

Blinds make a good alternative to curtains in this type of bay window, a curtain pole used in addition to the blinds will enable the use of swathes of material to be draped over the pole to soften the effect of the blinds. Curtain holdbacks like the Integra Woodwork square holdback makes a simple alternative to fitting a pole over the blinds if you like the look of the softness offered by folds of fabric, this will create a more romantic window finish.

Various themes can be achieved in the bathroom simply by targeting your choice of blinds.  Roman blinds will doubtless create a more decadent finish than the more austere finish of a roller blind – take a look at the Blooms Champagne roman blind. Woodweave blinds have a tendency to retain a more oriental look, the effect when they are closed during the day is quite stunning as the light filters through the blind, creating attractive shafts of light to fall on the floor and walls of the bathroom. The Imperial Forest woodweave blind would look every bit the part in any exotic oriental decor just as the Diana white roller blind will add finesse to a more classical finish.
