Some bathroom decors will evoke a feeling of luxury that normally you would have to pay a high price for in an expensive hotel, offering you an escape from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the house.
If your bathroom is large enough to enable a large corner bath, then apart from the pleasures that often accompany bathing for two, you can read or simply relax in a pool of bubbles in comfort.
For a clear mind, keep the decorative touches and bottles of oils and lotions to the minimum, but plenty of fluffy towels will ensure a feeling of sheer indulgence.
Often the position of a corner bath may be accompanied by a window or even a bay window. There are many types of blinds that are suitable for bathrooms that can also accommodate the features of a bay window; it just means that a blind will be required for each straight section of the bay, as obviously blinds cannot be fitted over a corner.
Metal venetian or wooden venetian blinds are particularly ideal for bathroom windows, particularly for windows that are in close proximity to the bath where perhaps the atmosphere may be steamy from the water.
Vertical blinds also make a good choice for bathroom windows, offering as with the venetian blinds, high levels of light and privacy control - they can also create atmospheric light if they are used during the day as soft pools of light will be cast across the room as the daylight filters through the blades of the blind.
An abundance of natural light or cleverly themed mood lighting is essential to ensure an attractive decor, but with the choices of innovative lighting such as fibre-optics being a subject of its own, it will be well worth investigating in a specialist lighting shop or on the internet before you purchase.
Roller blinds can be used successfully in a bay window and they will not inhibit light from entering the room as they will roll up neatly to the top of the window. They can however be a little austere and may need to be flattered by perhaps a casual voile swag draped from an elegant bay window curtain pole.
Should your choice of decor call for a more romantic boudoir look, then curtains will be the order of the day. If your bay window has enough space above the window opening, then there are a number of curtain poles that can be used such as the Integra bay pole.
This type of metal curtain pole will look particularly striking if the pole has the same finish as the taps and bathroom accessories. The pole also has a stunning array of curtain finials which will introduce a dramatic element if you opt for perhaps the Integra Options Midnight Fern finial, ideal in a modern scheme. Alternatively for a more subtle look, the Integra Options Sun Pearl finial will look especially attractive in a cream bathroom decor accessorised with natural spa themed accessories such as shells and sponges.
The other alternative to a pole will be a bay window curtain track. A track such as the Integra track can be easily fitted as it can be bent by hand to fit the bay window. Most curtain tracks can be wall or ceiling fitted which is ideal if the wall space above the window opening is limited.
