Curtain Pole Types
When choosing the best curtain poles (also referred to as a curtain rod or rail), you need to first bear in mind a) the weight and style of your curtains and b) the shape of your windows. Lightweight curtains can fit onto any diameter curtain pole but are generally better suited to thin poles with a diameter of 19mm or below. 28mm diameter poles are ideal for supporting most medium to heavy weight curtains, and 35mm diameters for heavier fabrics. For very large full-length curtains with heavy fabric and interlining we supply curtain rods with diameters of up to 50mm for metal poles and 55mm for wood.

Bay Window Poles Sets
Our best-selling bay window poles are usually supplied as a complete kit, with the special corner joints, passing rings, and brackets included. These specialised fittings have been designed to allow the curtains to operate normally in the bay window. Eyelet Poles
Poles for eyelet and tab top curtains are available in an assortment of colour finishes, including stylish finials to enhance the window treatment. Eyelet curtain poles are provided without curtain rings as the eyelets or tabs of the curtain heading are threaded through or onto the pole. Double Poles
Often windows are overlooked or have an unattractive view such as the neighbours' fence. Also, certain rooms such as bedrooms or bathrooms require privacy during the day. A double curtain rod is the modern solution to net curtains as the main curtains are fitted to a larger outer pole for use at night, and sheer or voile curtains are fitted to a lighter-weight pole and remain closed during the day.
Extra Long Rails
Metal poles will be inherently stronger than wooden ones and are supplied with extra brackets to join the poles and for added support. If you wish to use a wooden rail, make sure it has a strong enough diameter to support your curtains over a wide expanse. Extra long curtain poles are supplied with a screw fitting to join the poles together as well as extra brackets.
Ceiling Fixing Poles
Ceiling or top fixing poles can be used when there is little or no space for wall fixing. This may be because the top edge of the window is too close to the ceiling and there is not enough room above the window to face fix the pole to the wall.
