Blinds Colour Guide ? Neutral Tones

Neutral Tones

You may feel that neutral colours are slightly boring, but - chosen with care ? these colours can be warm and even intimate. A fair proportion of homes, unless permanently lit with warm artificial lighting, have a degree of grey shadow in the room. It is important to bear this in mind when selecting a neutral colour tone for your walls or window blinds.

Neutral colours are often confused with natural colours. White and black are neutral colours, as is off-white and brown. Within this range of neutral colours, there is a vast range of natural neutrals such as beige, grey and taupe. If you base your décor on various neutral and natural colourings, it will create a more sophisticated setting to display the focal points of a room, such as a collection of ornaments or a favourite piece of artwork.

A neutral blind colour such as the Van Gogh tan has a tiny amount of red added to the colour palette, which renders the colour softer and livelier. Neutral coloured blinds make an ideal solution if you wish to quieten down an interior scheme based on intense wall or floor colourings. The grey hues of the Gresham grey roller blind make for an extremely useable window treatment as it is ambiguous in colour, looking warm grey in some lights and light fawn in others.
