The warm weather is finally here! It's time to kick back, relax and enjoy the sun. No-one wants to miss out on the warm weather, but unfortunately you cannot be outside the whole time.
Below are some tips on how you can decorate your home for summer, which will allow you to bring a little bit of sunshine indoors.
Now the warmer weather is upon us, you can pack up all the heavy blankets. Clear your all surfaces and de-clutter as much as possible to give your home a complete minimalistic look. There is nothing worse than warm, sticky rooms, give them the chance to breathe by putting away the cold weather furnishings and accessories. Put what you can in the cupboards and closet and clear the bookshelves so the summer breeze can fill your home.
White is the colour for all summer decor on both the inside and out. Introduce as much of it as you can and replace any dark accessories with brighter ones. For example, remove the dark, drab heavy curtains from your living room window and replace them with light coloured roller blinds. You could do the same in your bedroom but instead choose blackout roller blinds, which will keep the sun out on those mornings you want a lie in.
As part of the interior decoration of your home, remember there is no surface or room that a bunch of flowers won't improve. Whether you want to buy the flowers or pick them from your own garden, you will find their colour, shapes and scent will fill your home, bringing a touch of seasonal style to your property.
The main thing to remember when decorating for the summer months is that less is more. The emptier the room, the brighter it looks, so de-clutter your home to give it a summery and inviting feel.
