Wood and Metal Rings

Curtain rings are an essential part of your window décor. They may seem like small, invisible, and insignificant details, but they are crucial in how your curtains look and function. With a vast array of finishes and materials available, you can choose rings that match your decor style and complement your curtains. Whether you prefer the sleek and modern look of metal rings or the natural warmth of wooden rings, there is an option for every preference.

Types of Curtain Pole Rings

1) Traditional round rings for standard curtain poles.

2) Passing curtain rings for bay windows. Please look for bay window rings on Bay Curtain Rings page.

2 Most Important Things to know before purchasing any curtain rings.

1) Size. Whether you already have a curtain pole or not, it is crucial to know the pole’s diameter before purchasing rings for it. The rings should fit snugly but move freely along the pole to ensure that your curtains operate smoothly. If the rings are too tight or too loose, they may not hold the curtains properly or move as they should. This is why the internal diameter of your curtain ring, whether wooden or metal, should be about 7-10mm bigger than your pole. For poles with big diameters of 50 or 55mm, we recommend rings with an internal diameter of 66-67mm. Once you know the diameter, you can use our “To Fit Pole Diameter” to refine your search.

2) Material. Curtain rings come in various materials, including metal, wood, or plastic. Metal or wooden rings are the most durable ones and come in a variety of sizes and finishes.

Metal is the most common material for pole rings and is usually the most durable one. Many metal rings have nylon lining surrounding their internal part that allows for smooth, quiet gliding. Metal pole rings come in a range of sizes, from 28mm to 60mm in diameter, and are easy to install. They are also available in many finishes such as white, black, antique brass, chrome and many more.

Wooden rings are versatile and can complement various décor styles, from rustic and traditional to modern and minimalist. They can have a natural finish of light or dark wood or have a painted finish of white, black, gold and more. Poles & Blinds offer over 50 pole ring finishes.

How Many Curtain Rings Do I Need for my Curtains?

Usually, one ring for every 10cm of pole length is enough. For example, an 200cm pole will require 20 rings. Certain curtain headings such as the multi-pocket tape headings and pencil pleat curtains may require extra rings - please be sure to check the number of rings supplied within each pack.
