Standard fixed length curtain rods generally look prettier and are regarded as more substantial than telescopic, however extendable poles are easier to fit as the telescopic system allows you to set the exact length of the pole without the need for cutting it down to the correct size - all you do is simply adjust it to the length you require.

This system is ideal for anyone moving house or in a first time buyer’s flat, as it can be easily removed and used again at a different window when the time has come to move on. Extendable pole systems are all made from metal and are available in diameters ranging from 16mm (5/8") for light weight curtains, to 38mm (1 1/2") for heavy weight fabrics.
