Types of Curtain Pole Rings

Curtain rings are available as an optional curtain pole accessory to use in conjunction with the co-ordinating curtain pole. Supplied with most of the curtain pole sets found on Poles and Blinds, usually supplying one ring for every 10cms of pole length. Certain curtain headings such as the multi pocket tape headings and pencil pleat curtains may require extra rings - please be sure to check the amount of rings supplied within each pack.

Some of the metal rings are supplied with a plastic lining, allowing for a smoother, quieter gliding action when opening or drawing the curtains. Passing rings can also be purchased and used in conjunction with passing brackets – this system allows the curtains to pass over the support brackets and is ideal for bay windows.

How to choose the correct curtain rings?

The internal diameter of your curtain ring, whether wooden or metal, should be about 7-10mm bigger than your pole. This allows some space for rings to move smoothly along the pole. If you already have a pole, measure its diameter first then add 10mm. Example: Rolls Honister Curtain Rings for 28mm Curtain Poles have an internal ring diameter of 35mm. The common mistake many people make is choosing the same or smaller diameter, so please double-check it before ordering.
