Description

Ideal for hanging both Eyelet and Tab Top curtains in a 3-sided bay window, the Speedy ball bay curtain pole and components are engineered from pressed aluminium and supplied as a complete kit ready to fit.

The kit is suitable for both ‘Right Angle’ as well as ‘Splayed’ shape bay windows, see the diagram above.

Perfect for hanging medium weight curtains of up to 8kg, colours include satin silver, chrome and antique brass to coordinate with popular colour curtain fabrics and interiors.

The bay pole has a total length of 400cm (157 1/2") and includes the following components -

2 x 200cm (78 3/4") long, 28mm (1 1/8") Diameter Poles – each pole has an integrated bendable section (the centre of which is located at 80cm (31 1/2") from the end (see the line drawing diagram below). Both poles join together in the centre of the bay.

1 x Internal Pole Joiner.

1 x Pair of Speedy Ball Finials.

5 x Extendable Brackets.

15 x Fixing Screws & Plugs.

1 x Allen Key.

1 x Fitting Instructions – easy to follow.

Please note – curtain rings are not supplied as they are not necessary when hanging eyelet or tab top curtains.

The poles can be cut down to your exact required length at home using a fine tooth saw.

The brackets supplied are designed for wall fixing only – 5 x extendable brackets are included; 2 brackets are required at each end (spaced 10cm (3 15/16") apart) to provide maximum strength and one in the centre window.

Eyelet curtains pull easily around the corners – the spacing of the brackets provides ample support, so support in the corners is not required.

Hand bendable sections in the poles work beautifully – the curtains pull easily around the curved corners. When bending, ensure the notches are located on the inside and be careful not to overbend, as re-straightening may distort the profile. Please refer to the fitting instructions.

Excellent option for 90 degree bay windows

Have a 90 degree bay window which I wanted to put curtains up in to try and keep some warmth in. Fixings feel very secure and it wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be to put up the pole after putting the fixings in place, though it is a two-person job (at least for us it was!). Would definitely recommend.

Good quality

Great pole for Bay Window

We were having difficulty finding a reasonably priced pole for a bay window. This one was great. I was nervous about the bending to shape and also the cutting but both were fine. The parts that get cut are hidden too so it really was'nt a big deal. Looks great and swift delivery. All good!

Looks good but the small error in instructions

The pole looks good when installed and the bending of the poles for the bay window angle was straight forward. However, I had two minor issues with the poles. Firstly, a couple of tightening grub screws were missing (I had some spare in my screw box) and secondly, there's an error in the instructions. The brackets have three holes for screws. The instructions show they should be fixed with a screw hole at the bottom (one obviously at each side) but they look much better with the hole reversed (i.e. on top side - see photo). Also, installing this way means the two tightening grub screws are on the upper surface and not seen. I think the instructions need updating. Overall, happy with the final result.

Looks great

Was a bit worried about bending the pole but needn’t have worried as it was no problem at all neither was cutting it. I found the hardest part was hanging the curtains themselves. This is much easier with 2 people. Once the curtains were on and the pole was up it looks classy.

Works well

I'm pleased with the product. Fitting a rail to a complex bay window is difficult but the ability to bend precisely, and the adjustability of the brackets helps with this.
